They were among a group of suspected pirates captured by a Dutch navy ship off the coast of Tanzania on November 7, Dutch public radio NOS reported.
The five men, aged between 20 and 30, were transferred to The Netherlands on Sunday. The others were released because of insufficient evidence against them.
Heavily-armed pirates have seized a large number of vessels in the Indian Ocean and Gulf of Aden in recent years.
The Netherlands participates, together with other EU members, in EU anti-piracy operation Atalanta.
Its main tasks are to escort merchant ships carrying humanitarian aid, protect vulnerable vessels in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean and deter and disrupt piracy.
