Queensland’s 100m hurdles gold medallist will return home on the weekend, citing fatigue after a long training and competition campaign.
Pearson began the Australian domestic season in early January and competed in all the major meets before heading to Europe in June.
She was scheduled to race at the Diamond League meet at Stockholm this weekend and a further three competitions before returning to the Gold Coast.
After consultation with her family, coach Sharon Hannan, manager Robert Joske and Athletics Australia high performance manager Eric Hollingsworth, the world and Olympic champion will begin her holidays early.
