Pál Orosz Sr. is still remembered with great appreciation by the members of the Moroccan team. Thanks to this the leaders of Raja, together with the Embassy in Rabat decided to renew the relationship and friendship between the Hungarian and the Moroccan footballers. The son of Pál Orosz Sr., who is CEO of Ferencváros TC, welcomed the initiation and together with his colleague, Attila Berzeviczi president of the Board visited Casablanca on 26th February. Pál Orosz Jr. also spent several years in the African city as a child so the meeting was really touching. This is also true to the leadership of Raja, since the rise of the multiple champion and Cup winner team, who boasts with Morocco’s largest supporting group, was due to the work of the Hungarian coach at the time. It cannot be a coincidence that the flag of Raja is also green and white and its animal in crest is the eagle.
To utilize again the results of a legendary period, the two teams will soon sign a framework agreement for cooperation, which would include taking part in training camps, player transfers, mutual player transfers and coach trainings. As a first step towards this, the Hungarian club will welcome the representatives of Raja so that they could study the structure of Ferencváros and build their experience in the structural and professional transformation process presently going on in the Moroccan club.
During the meeting Pál Orosz Jr. invited the Moroccan team to the Whitsun Cup organized by FTC next year and they accepted it with pleasure. Besides this Fradi count on their Casablanca partner at the friendly “green-and-white” tournament organized by the Hungarians where they invited Celtic and Rapid Wien as well.
The meeting of the leaders of Raja and Fradi in Casablanca was closed in style: with the quarterfinal match of the Arab Cup against the Iraqi Erbil SC, which crowned the elation with the victory of Raja to 2-0. Green flags, green eagles …
