The Hungarians were there at the foundation too, the idea was that of Omotunde Komolafe’s, who lives in Hungary, and AHU has supported AUU from the beginning. It is not a coincidence then that 36-year-old Nigerian-born Azeez Biodun Mikeli, who initially went to the Ukraine to study then settled down in the country after his marriage, is mainly interested in the experience of the Hungarians. The president of the Ukrainian organization told AfriPORT that in his country there are no African events, programs that could start the dialogue with other NGOs, the authorities and representatives of political institutions. It means that they basically have to start from scratch. The African-Hungarian Union can give strong support in all this since AHU has played a determining part as an NGO and a well-known spokesperson in Hungary, which deals with matters of the black continent.
