The march started as a peaceful demonstration in Johannesburg, Soweto, the South African Republic. These youngsters went only for better education conditions and wanted to study on their national language. The tragedy has been commemorated since 22 years and was started by the African Union.
African Children’s day is dedicated to the disabled ones this year. Africa expert Ildikó Hermina Szilasi and photographer Gergely Lantai-Csont celebrated the African Childrens day in the frame of the expedition Angola- on the tracks of László Magyar in Bailundo, Huambo Province, Central-Angola.
“Several hundred children gathered in front of the cultural house in Bailundo town. By 9 AM, they lined up to get into the theatre room where movie screening was scheduled. Public servants decorated the doors with colorful balloons. A young celebrity team arrived from a nearby city. Children started to dance for the starting music!”- told Ildikó Szilasi. For the children in Bailundo this day will remain a very nice memory.
