Twenty-four vehicles of different types were burnt in a fresh crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The crash took place at the same spot where 10 trucks got burnt at a spot near Danco Filling Station outward Lagos at 11.45p.m on Friday night, according to an alert by the Federal Road Safety Commission.
The vehicles are one saloon car, five minibuses, one luxury bus, 11 trailers, four tankers and two pickup vans.
A total of 176 people were affected by the incident although none of them was killed.
The cause of the crash was a fire that broke out from a tanker after it upturned on the expressway and fuel started gushing out of its hold.
Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, visited the scene at 11a.m on Saturday, where he expressed shock at the extent of carnage.
After some hours, security agents were able to clear one lane on each side of the road. But they called on construction companies to assist with cranes to enable them to remove the wreckage.
