Morocco invests $ 3 billion in 79 wastewater treatment plants

Rabat – A total of 79 wastewater treatment plants will be carried out by 2012, worth over 15 billion dirhams ($ 3 bln), announced on Tuesday in Rabat Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi.

As part of speeding up the pace of implementing the national wastewater treatment program, and in order to promote environmental policy, cut the deficit in terms of infrastructure and deal with any form of pollution, connection to the sewerage network will be strengthened to up to 72%, said El Fassi at the opening of the 7th National Council on the Environment. He added that under this program, 42 wastewater treatment plants were carried out.
