Ghana were the only African side to win their opening game, courtesy of Asamoah Gyan
Gyan, who has scored three goals in helping Ghana reach the last eight of the competition, had to sit out the remainder of the session with an ice pack on his ankle. However, Gyan is expected to recover in time for the match.
“The ankle is getting better,” Gyan said. “I had a knock during the game last time. Yesterday [Monday] I felt something bad and I had to go out and rest today as well. But tomorrow I think I will be fine.
“I will be fine for the game on Friday. It is nothing really bad. I need about two days off and I will be fine.”
