Angola 2010: Two arrested over Togo attack

Two people have been arrested in connection with the attack on Togo’s national football team in Angola last Friday. According to Angolan state media, the two were arrested after security wings in that country launched an extensive man-hunt for the attackers of the Hawks.

Three people were killed when the team’s bus was fired upon with machine guns in the Cabinda enclave on Friday.

The Togo squad flew out of Angola Sunday night after the country’s president and its prime minister called the team home.
The rebel group Front for the Liberation of the Enclave of Cabinda claimed responsibility for Friday’s 30-minute machine-gun attack on the team.

Angola – the host nation – of the 27th edition of the African Cup of Nations is recovering from years of war.
