The president of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso Friday in Brazzaville, pointed out modernization of the country, in all sectors, as the main goal, after being sworn in for another seven-year mandate.
During the ceremony attended by Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, Denis Sassou Nguesso, said that the priority is to modernize his country and free it from all sorts of constraints, that hinder the development of Angola‘s northern neighbor.
"To modernize Congo is to increase education structures in all levels, multiply excellence schools to train elite, generalize utilization of new information and communication technologies ", he said.
The Congolese president, who was re-elected with 78.61 percent of the votes last July 12 polls, added that "modernize Congo is to reinforce health service, build and rebuild new hospitals, and other health infra-structures in all national territory".
Among those witnessing the swearing-in ceremony of the French-speaking nation’s leader were the presidents of Equatorial Guinea, DR Congo, Chad, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Mali, Central African Republic, Namibia, Sao Tome and Principe, Burundi and Benin.
