A Victorian government inquiry into the taxi industry has recommended a raft of changes, including making drivers with less than five years experience sit a knowledge test and capping the annual cost of taxi licences.
The taxi industry has already voiced its concerns about the recommendations, announced last December, including reforms to licensing, how drivers are remunerated and zoning of the taxi licences.
The Victorian Taxi Association is hosting the mass meeting of drivers, owners, operators and booking companies today.
