National holiday road toll at 25

The national holiday road toll has climbed to 25, with the latest fatalities occurring in South Australia and in Queensland.

A 19-year-old man is dead after his quad bike and a four-wheel drive collided south of Gympie this morning, taking Queensland’s toll to three.

Later this morning, a motorcyclist died in a crash in the Adelaide Hills, with South Australia now recording four deaths.

In New South Wales, so far seven people have died this holiday season, while there have been six fatalities in Victoria, and four in Western Australia.

One death has been reported in Tasmania.

There have been no fatalities in the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory.
