SA police flags at half mast

skynews 802126All flags on South Australian police buildings are flying at half mast in memory of two British policewomen killed while on duty last month.

Greater Manchester police officers Nicola Hughes, 23 and Fiona Bone, 32, were gunned down as they responded to a report of a burglary in Hattersley on September 18.

A 29-year-old man has been charged with their murders.

Their funerals are taking place on Wednesday and Thursday this week in the UK.

SA police said flags were flying at half mast out of respect for the two British officers and to also show support for former UK police officers now serving in the local force.
