A WOULD-BE burglar has been arrested after getting stuck in the lift well of a city building.
The man was rescued by firefighters after climbing on to the top of the lift and finding he had nowhere to go.
The man had walked into the Collins St building in Melbourne’s CBD on Thursday morning and became trapped in the lift well, police say. His embarrassing criminal fail was caught on CCTV.
A 36-year-old North Melbourne man has been charged with burglary, criminal damage and trespass, although it doesn’t appear that he actually came away with anything other than embarrassment after being caught on TV cameras.
He was granted bail to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on October 15.
