Son of Saul in official selection for Lux Prize
Hungarian director Laszlo Nemes’s Cannes award-winning film Son of Saul and Alexander Nanau’s film Toto and His Sisters, made in Romanian-Hungarian-German co-production, are among the ten films in the official selection for the 2015 Lux Prize, the European Parliament said on Sunday.
Given out each year by the EP, the Lux Prize is aimed to “cast a spotlight on the diversity of European cinema and its importance in building social and cultural values”, the statement said. Out of the ten films, three will be selected and announced at the end of July as the prize competitors and the winner will be unveiled at the end of the year in Strasbourg.
