20 dead as Nigeria boat capsizes

Port Harcourt – Rescuers have recovered 20 bodies after an overcrowded passenger boat capsized in southern Nigeria, an emergency official said on Wednesday, with a number of people also rescued.

 

“Nema rescue officials confirm that so far three people rescued alive while 20 bodies recovered,” said Yushau Shuaib, spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency. 
Another rescue official had reported 10 people rescued and said 40 or more people had been aboard the boat.
